Is a beater car worth buying?
"I’ve found a beater car that’s selling for $995, which seems like an amazing deal. But is this too good to be true? Is it ever worth buying a beater?
“It really depends on the car itself and the availability and cost of replacement parts. Certain cars are made with parts that are readily available and very inexpensive. If you are mechanically inclined, it is very possible that a beater car could last a long time with minimal additional costs.
However, it is very important that you do your research on the make and model before you decide to buy. What you don’t want to do is buy it just because it’s a good deal, only to find out that it needs a new $2,000 engine, $1,000 transmission, and $500 worth of small parts. “

Why am I being charged more for auto insurance after a not-at-fault accident?
Last year, my car got rear-ended and the other driver paid for the damage through their insurance. When my policy was renewed, my rate had shot up. My agent said this was due to the not-at-fault accident from last year. Why am I being penalized when the accident was the other driver's fault?

Is renters insurance legally required to install a satellite dish?
"I can't have a satellite dish installed until I get approval from my apartment's management. The management says installation is only possible if I show proof of renters insurance, and I don't have insurance. Is it law that I need renters insurance to have a dish installed? "
