Is 680 a good credit score for getting a car loan?

I’m contemplating either buying a used car with cash or getting a new vehicle using a car loan, but I’m not sure if I’ll even be approved for a loan. Is 680 a good credit score for getting a car loan?

Buying a car with cash has its benefits, but so does having a new vehicle!
In general, lenders prefer borrowers with a credit score of at least 661, so 680 is a good credit score for a
car loan
and you should be approved relatively quickly.
Keep in mind that getting a new vehicle with a car loan means it’ll have a
lien
. You’ll need to have a
car insurance
policy with
comprehensive
and
collision
coverage.
In contrast, if you buy a used car with cash, you only need to carry the
minimum car insurance required in your state
and won’t have a lien or any monthly payments.
No matter what you decide, you can avoid overpaying for your car insurance policy by downloading
