I'm currently paying $300 for car insurance on my Ford F-150, but where can I find a lower, more reasonable rate?

I pay $300 a month for car insurance for my Ford F-150, but the rate seems far too high after talking to some of my friends and family. Where can I find more reasonably priced car insurance?

A rate of $300 per month might be too high if you’re a standard customer with no violations on record.
Our data shows that the average car insurance rate in the U.S. is $1,526 per year for minimum coverage and $2,264 for
full coverage
. That breaks down to around $127 and $188 per month, respectively.
  • If you're over the age of 25 and have a clean driving record, your rate is on the high end compared to most adult drivers. It might be a good idea to shop around and compare insurance quotes from 3-5 other providers.
  • If you're under the age of 25 or have violations on your record, you'll typically pay more than the average for car insurance coverage—but it's worth comparing quotes from different insurers to make sure you're not overpaying.
