If I haven't updated my registration yet, will the insurance company deny my claim?

I moved to Minnesota about a week ago and haven't had a chance to update my insurance policy or car registration. I was in a car accident yesterday that I know wasn't my fault. Can the insurance company deny my claim since the accident was in a different state than listed on my policy?

“It is terrible to hear you had an accident right after your move! The good news is that you should be covered up to the limits of your existing policy.
The reason why changing your insurance right before or after a move is important is to make sure you have at least the required limits of that state so that you are adequately covered. If your prior state has the same or higher limits of Minnesota, that is great.
If your current policy limits are lower than the requirements in Minnesota, you will want to explain the situation to your agent. Most insurance policies include a clause that states if you are driving in a state with insurance requirements higher than what you carry, in the event of an accident your limits will rise to meet the requirement.
Since you are now a resident of Minnesota, this falls into a grey area.
In general, as long as your policy is active and there isn’t any fraudulent activity happening here, you should be fine.
You will need to update your insurance policy for the move, so it’s a great time to shop around for
