If I have my Honda Fit lowered, will I save on gas money?

I want to maximize the gas mileage on my Honda Fit. Will lowering the car make it more fuel-efficient by reducing the drag coefficient?

Surprisingly, a lowered
Honda Fit
 will make the car more fuel-efficient. The lower the car is to the ground, the more aerodynamic it is, and the less the engine has to fight against the wind.
Other drivers have reported seeing a slight savings at the gas station, and since gas is currently around $5 per gallon right now, I can see the appeal. However, the cost to lower the suspension on your
Honda
 is about $1000. You won’t save enough gas money to make money back on your
vehicle modification
, but it would still be a cool look.
