How to use credit card car rental insurance?

I'm currently on vacation with my family in the Dominican Republic. I've heard about rental car coverage through a credit card, but I was hoping you could tell me how to access my rental benefits?

I hope you’re having a relaxing trip! If you are trying to access
rental car insurance
 through a credit card, it’s best to call the phone number on the back of your card to better understand your company’s specific policies, coverage levels, and exceptions.
Credit card companies that offer rental car coverage usually require you to:
  • Pay for the rental car with that credit card
  • Decline the collision coverage or collision damage waiver (CDW) that’s offered at the rental agency
  • Make sure the driver of the rental car is listed on the rental agreement
If you travel frequently, you can also get
rental car insurance
