Camping with my Dad all these years has prepared me to answer this question! Here are some tips on packing your car:
Don’t pack everything in right away- Have a strategic order and plan where you’ll place everything.
Use all the space you can- Don’t be afraid to use the back seat if you need to.
Heavy stuff at the bottom, lighter stuff at the top- Lighter stuff on the top is easier to move around and adjust, especially if you need to access something after packing the car.
Necessities should be closer to the top- Make sure things you’ll need sooner are closer to the outside. Anything you need last should be closer to the bottom.
Tubs and containers are your friend- Loose stuff is harder to pack and can be easily lost in a stuffed car.
Keep your food in a cooler or separate container- Even if it doesn’t need to be cold, it’s easier to organize. You also avoid anything getting squished.
Now that you’re extra-prepared to camp, another thing you can do to help yourself is to invest in a good roadside assistance program.
