How to open the gas tank on a 2017 Volkswagen Jetta

So … this is embarrassing. I’ve been sitting at the gas station for ten minutes now trying to find the little lever thingy you pull up to open the gas tank in my new car. I’m trying to call my dad but he’s at work. UGH! Could you tell me how to open the gas tank on a 2017 Volkswagen Jetta?

There isn’t a little fuel door lever in your
Jetta
. Simply hop out of your car, walk up to the door over the gas cap, and give it a gentle push inward, as if you were pushing it closed. It’ll pop right open, and now you can fill up your Jetta.
Please note that fueling doors are prone to freezing shut in the winter and may need to be repeatedly pushed to break up the ice a little. When you’re done fueling, twist the cap on until it clicks, too.
Also, here’s a little factoid not everyone knows that can be super useful. Look at the
fuel gauge on your dashboard
. See the little arrow alongside the fuel symbol? That’s pointing toward the side of the car where the gas tank gets filled up. We’re just tossing this in here because it’s nifty to know.
