I’m running low on gas for the first time since I got my new Nissan Altima, but I can’t open the gas tank manually. What’s the secret?

This problem is more common than you’d think—lots of car manufacturers are putting gas tank levers inside their vehicles, instead of having a way to open the gas tank manually.
Opening the gas tank for your
Nissan Altima
actually can’t be done from outside the vehicle. To do it, you’ll first have to pull a release lever inside of your car. Here’s how to locate it:
From the driver’s seat of your Nissan, look to the lower left side of your steering wheel *Below the wheel on the left-hand side, you should see a *lever with a gas tank symbol** on it *Pull this level toward you and out to open the gas tank cover
Your gas tank lever will release the tank cover, giving you access to the gas tank itself. Just unscrew the cap and you’re ready to fuel up!
Now that you know how to open your Nissan Altima’s gas tank, why not learn how to save on your Altima’s insurance?
