How to open a Ford Fusion key fob
I’ve been trying to replace the battery in my Ford Fusion’s key fob, but I can’t seem to get the fob open so that I can reach the battery. Is there some trick to getting this thing open?

Great question! A lot of people struggle with this particular task, and a lot of them even assume that there isn’t a way to open up the fob. Don’t worry, there is one. Once you know what to do, it’s actually pretty easy! Here’s how to open a
Ford Fusion
key fob: - First, you need to locate the release latch. It’s a plastic button that you need to slide in order to release the back cover. It might be very subtle and be the same color as the rest of the fob. Look very carefully over the surface of the fob until you find the release latch—it should be near the top corner next to the “lock/unlock” button.
- Once you find the latch, slide it all the way over in order to release the back cover of your fob.
- Use a key, coin, or flathead screwdriver to pry open the unlocked key fob—make sure to use the notch provided to get leverage.
And that’s it—you’ve successfully opened your Ford Fusion’s key fob! You should now be able to access its battery without any more trouble.
