How to not renew car insurance?
I’m thinking about switching insurance providers at the end of December, but I want to wait for my policy to run out. How can you elect to not renew your insurance policy?

The easiest way to cancel your policy at its renewal date is by contacting your local insurance agent. Some insurers may require a formally signed cancellation notice, however, some may facilitate your policy’s cancellation directly over the phone.
Ask your agent about the cancellation process and be sure to download or save any documents regarding the cancellation of your policy.
You can also mail or fax a cancellation letter to your local insurance agent or the company itself. Be sure to include the following in your letter or fax:
- The date
- Your name
- Policy number
- Requested cancellation date
