I currently work for a marketing agency and I was curious about the marketing tactics behind the electric car industry. How do you market elecric cars?

In the age of consumerism, marketing is everything.A great way to market anything is to figure out a target audience and solve a problem for them. Electric cars solve the problem people have with high fuel rates and inefficient engines guzzling gas bumper-to-bumper traffic.
Electric cars are also a relatively new concept, so in order to market them there needs to be an established market to market to. For new products or services one of the basic first steps, like market research, is key. The rising concern of climate change has produced a growing number of potential EV buyers, but a current concern is how to continue to convert traditional drivers to EVs.
Social media is huge in this current digital age so many brands often use social media as a tool to help promote. Tactics like having a well-known celebrity endorse the brand by using them in a commercial or paid social media post is a great way to promote the vehicle to consumers.
Especially for the younger generation, design and technological integration are important. For millennials and Gen Z, laptops, smartphones, and smartwatches, can all be connected and there’s an app for everything.
To market to this upcoming generation of EV buyers, and economic, green-energy, high-tech product that even the best celebrities would support would be ideal.
Marketing can be a hit and miss, but choosing an insurance policy doesn’t have to be.
