How to lower the backseat in a Honda Civic?
How do I fold down the backseat in a Honda Civic? I have a second-hand 2006 Honda Civic. I’m planning on going camping with my partner and we need to fold down the backseat of my car to fit all our bags and camping equipment. I’m still not used to this vehicle, so I’m not sure how to fold down the backseat.

Camping sounds like fun—I hope you both have a great time! It takes some time to get used to a new car, but you’ll quickly learn how to use everything your Honda has to offer. To lower the backseat in a Honda Civic, follow these steps.
- Step 1: Unlock the vehicle and head to the back of the car. Lift the trunk open.
- Step 2: Inside the upper corners of the trunk, locate the two release levers. Once you spot them, pull both levers. This will unlock the lock on the back seat.
- Step 3: Go to the left backseat door of the vehicle. Open the door and fold down the back seat. If the headrests attached to the backseat get caught on the frontseats, move the headrests.
