How to find out car insurance details?
My dad is looking to get a new car insurance policy, but he’s not sure what his old policy covered. What is the best way to view your car insurance details?

First, check to see if your dad has any documentation in his car. Drivers need to have proof of insurance on hand in case of an accident, so there’s a likelihood that his insurance card is in his glove compartment or another safe spot in the car. This should have policy details on it.
Another option is to look in your dad’s email for records from his insurance provider. Typically, providers will email policy confirmation and information. Those emails may have your dad’s insurance ID information, and you can use that to log in to the provider’s website and check for policy details.
If you can’t find this, you may be able to get a quote for a new policy and use the application process to find out about his current coverage. When you’re applying for a new policy, the agent can run a CLUE report, which will provide information on any current policies in his name.
