The
incentives and rebates
 available by State for EVs are a great way to get a return from the high purchasing price. To claim the electric car credit in Texas, simply complete the rebate form and submit it with your W-9.
In most States, you can find a credit or some incentive that goes toward purchasing an electric car. The amount and type vary by State. Texas offers a $2,500 rebate for buying an electric vehicle and accepts only 2,000 applications per year.
How to claim the Texas Light-Duty Motor Vehicle Purchase or Lease Incentive Program (LDPLIP):
  • Step 1: Check your vehicle’s eligibility.
  • Step 2: Complete the LDPLIP Rebate Application Form.
  • Step 3: Complete a W-9 form.
  • Step 4: Submit both signed copies of your application by mail.
