How to charge an electric car without a garage?

My husband and I are thinking of selling our house and moving to a condo uptown since it's closer to his work, so we’ll only need one vehicle. We’re selling our older gas-tank car, but keeping the EV, how do you charge an electric car without a garage.

Definitely sounds like a strategic move! Charging an EV without your own personal garage shouldn’t be a problem as you have a few options. You could just charge at the public charging stations as gas cars do, or maybe look into getting a permit.
There’s nothing wrong with just using the public charging stations—gas-powered cars do that! In fact, many charging stations like to locate near enough apartment buildings for that reason.
However, there is a great convenience of being able to charge at home if need be. Talk to your landlord and see if they’ll let you charge your car in a regular outlet or even an upgraded one. In many states, it’s prohibited from land lower to deny a request within reason. Just obtain a permit and you should be good to go.
Your employer may let you charge your vehicle while you work. It may even encourage your workplace to upgrade to better chargers, especially if more employees want to switch to an EV!
