I’m moving to a new city soon. How do I change my address for my insurance?

To change your address, simply call your provider or use their online portal to make the change.
Most insurance providers have an online portal or free mobile app that allows policyholders to update profile information 24/7. You can also call a helpline to speak with an agent, if you prefer.
When to do it: Most auto insurance providers will give you a grace period of 10-30 days to notify them of any changes to your personal information, but it’s still best to contact them by phone or online as soon as possible.
What will happen: Your insurance premiums are tied to your zip code. Even if you’re not changing states or
cities
, it’s incredibly important to have this information up-to-date with your provider. In fact, not changing your address could be considered a form of insurance fraud.
Keep in mind, your rate might
increase
once you move.
