How to appeal a car insurance claim?

What's the process for appealing a car insurance claim? A drunk driver hit my car and my insurance provider won't help me cover repairs.

How scary! I’m sorry to hear that happened.
If you’d like to appeal a
car insurance
claim, you’ll need to follow your provider’s internal appeal process. The best way to get started is to call your insurance company and ask about their appeal policy.
From there, you’ll probably need to write a letter explaining your reason for appealing. Remember, your letter should contain:
  • An explanation of why the evidence does not align with the insurer’s decision
  • Any evidence, including photographs, reports, and medical records
  • Reasoning for how the evidence supports your view
If the insurance company denies your appeal, you can still file a complaint with the state department or
hire a lawyer
.
While you’re entitled to take both these steps, you should only use them as a last resort. A lawyer can be costly, so resolving the issue directly with your insurance is a less expensive and easier option.
That said, if your provider is uncooperative and you feel it’s time for a change, you can explore your other options with
