How should you lock your bike to a car rack?

I signed up for a bike race this weekend, but I don’t have a bike rack on my car. How should you lock your bike to a car rack?

A bike race sounds fun, and luckily, you have options if you need to lock your bike to a car rack.
To do so, you should pick up a long cable with either a lock or rounded puck at the end from your local department store.
Then, use the cable to secure your bike to your car rack by creating multiple loops around and through the bike and the rack. Once you run out of cable, you can lock the ends and use a padlock to secure it or loop the puck through and pull to secure.
You’ll want to test the security of the bike by pulling and jostling it. Don’t get too rough as you could damage the bike or your
car’s paint
, but you’ll still want to make sure it’s secure.
Since you’ll be driving to a bike race, make sure you have the proper car insurance coverage with the
