How reliable is a tire plug?

Are tire plugs a reliable way to fix your tire? I can’t afford to get my tire replaced right now, so I had my mom fix mine for me using a tire plug. Will I be able to drive on it for a while, or do I need to start saving for a new tire?

Tire plugs are typically a very reliable way to patch up your tires! Most tire plugs will last for seven to ten years as long as the rest of your tire is still in good shape, so there’s no need to worry about saving up for a new tire just yet!
However, it’s worth noting that you shouldn’t patch or plug a tire more than once before getting a new one. If you get another hole in your tire, you won’t be able to plug it up again to save money. As such, try to be careful whenever possible to avoid
a flat
until you do get new tires!
