How reliable is a Prius?

Does the Toyota Prius have a good life expectancy, and is it expensive to fix? I love the idea of owning an eco-friendly car, but I don’t have a ton of disposable income for things like battery replacement.

The
Toyota Prius
has a good reliability score, although it ranks mid-tier when compared to other midsize cars on the market right now. The Prius also has great average annual ownership costs, with drivers expecting to pay about $400 per year in maintenance costs.
Remember that you’ll also save a lot on gas by driving a Prius, so repair costs will typically be offset by the savings. Additionally, Priuses last a long time, with most models lasting for 200,000 to 250,000 miles and some even lasting over 300,000 miles with proper maintenance and care.
If you decide to buy a Prius, you’ll also need
car insurance
