How reliable is a Nissan Leaf?

I love the idea of the Nissan Leaf but I’m shocked that I never see them on the road. Are they unreliable or just unpopular? I want to buy one but I’m nervous about it breaking down.

The
Nissan Leaf
is considered to be very reliable when compared with other electric vehicles currently on the market. However, the actual ratings that the Leaf has received in terms of reliability are pretty average when compared more broadly.
If you’re interested in an electric vehicle specifically, the Leaf can definitely be a good choice. It’s relatively inexpensive, relatively reliable, and has a low average annual cost of ownership.
The only cautionary point about the Nissan Leaf is the battery. Used Leafs often have a poorly functioning battery, so it’s best to buy a Leaf new. The result is a lifespan of just 100,000 to 150,000 miles before you’ll need to undergo the expensive task of installing a new battery in your electric vehicle.
