How reliable is a Ford Explorer?

Is it expensive to own a Ford Explorer? I’ve been thinking about buying one but it’s right at the top of my budget, so I’m worried that I might have to sell it again if it needs a lot of repairs.

It’s awesome that you’re doing your research before jumping into owning a new car! The
Ford Explorer
is about average in terms of reliability and has an average annual repair cost of $732. The number of necessary repairs is pretty low for the Explorer, and the severity is about average.
Most Ford Explorers will last anywhere from 80,000 to 200,000 miles, although you may be able to extend their lifetime with regular maintenance and upkeep. If this sounds like it might be out of your budget, it might be safer to opt for a cheaper vehicle to make sure you’re able to keep up with necessary repairs.
If you have your heart set on the Explorer, though, check out the
