How old do you need to be to rent a car in Georgia?

I’m traveling down to Atlanta this summer, but I also want to visit Savannah while I’m there. Flying is far too expensive, so I’m going to rent a car—I just want to make sure that it’s a possibility because I’m only 23. In Georgia, how old do you need to be to rent a car?

Savannah
is a beautiful town and well worth the trip from Atlanta.
Fortunately, you only need to be 21 years old to rent a car in
Georgia
, so you shouldn’t have any issues reserving a car.
However, because you’re below the age of 25, you may face restrictions on the type of car you can rent and be subject to a young driver surcharge. This helps the car rental company limit risk.
Keep in mind: Your personal
car insurance
typically covers your rental car, so there’s no need to buy
rental car insurance
if you already have a personal policy.
Before you hit the roads in the peach state, be sure to familiarize yourself with the
Georgia traffic laws
. Then,
buckle up
and enjoy your trip!
