How often should you get your car detailed?

When should I be getting my car detailed? I usually do it once a year, but someone told me recently that I should be doing it more often. Is this true?

Most detailers will recommend that you bring your car in every four to six months. This can make your car last longer and protect your car exterior from various kinds of damage. You can get a full detail each time, which will usually cost between $50 to $150 each time, or you can choose specific services each time.
If you only get your car detailed once a year, though, it’s a good idea to get it done in the fall. This is because winter can be very hard on your car’s paint job due to the colder temperatures, salt and sand on the road, ice, and snow.
