How often should you change the transmission fluid in a 2010 Honda Accord?

My Honda Accord is getting up there in miles, it just made it past the 100,000-mile mark. I have heard mixed messages about changing the transmission fluid. I have never done it with this car, and have never had any problems, but I want to make sure it stays running for as long as possible. How often should I be changing the transmission fluid in a 2010 Honda Accord?

100,000 miles is great for a 13-year-old car! Congrats on keeping it in great shape. As your car gets older, sticking to the
basic maintenance schedule
becomes even more important.
You should change the transmission fluid in a 2010
Honda Accord
about every 90,000 miles. This service requires specialized equipment and should be done by a mechanic which will cost $200-$300.
Cars with an
automatic transmission
don’t require too much transmission maintenance because the system is fairly self-contained. But it is recommended that you have your fluid replaced every 90,000 miles. When done by a mechanic, your transmission will be flushed out with high pressure so that any build-up is removed with the old fluid.
A mechanic will also know how to dispose properly of the old transmission fluid, so you won’t need to worry about that.
