How often should you change the cabin air filter in a Toyota Corolla?

I haven’t changed the cabin filter since buying my car last year. It’s starting to smell musty inside my Toyota—I’m guessing that’s why. What’s the recommended amount of time I should wait before changing the cabin air filter in my Corolla?

Your cabin air filter is essential for keeping your car clean and dust-free. That said, it’s a relatively important piece of
car maintenance
. You should change the cabin air filter in your Toyota Corolla at least once every 10,000 to 30,000 miles.
Of course, the frequency will vary depending on your driving conditions. If you live in a dusty area with poor air quality, then you’ll be better off changing it every 10,000 miles. But if you live in an area with clean air, then you can usually wait closer to 30,000 miles.
New air filters typically cost between $15 and $35, so you shouldn’t be paying too much for a filter change. If you have a
mechanic
handle it for you, it shouldn’t even take an hour. So with labor, the overall cost will likely be around $50-$70.
