How often should spark plug wires be changed?

I bought my son his first car about a year ago, and since he’s put almost 25,000 miles on it. He says he needs new spark plugs, but I think it’s too soon. How often do you need to change spark plug wires?

Most mechanics and manufacturers will recommend you change your spark plugs every 30,000 miles or so, although the exact mileage can vary by vehicle. If you’re using a more durable spark plug, like iridium spark plugs, you may not need to change them until you’re between 60,000 to 90,000 miles—or longer.
You’ll notice if your spark plugs need replacing, as faulty spark plugs can impact your driving experience and cause misfires, engine noise, and more.
