How often should I be changing car insurance companies?

I have been with my current insurance company for three years, but I’ve been growing less and less satisfied with their coverage. How often are you supposed to change car insurance companies?

There’s no set rule on when or how often you should be changing your car insurance company—however, personal finance experts highly recommend shopping around for rates every six to 12 months, or at every renewal period.
That’s because every
car insurance company
calculates its rates a little differently, and your rates can fluctuate depending on factors like where you live, how old you are, your driving history, and more.
More often than not, your car insurance rate will increase over time—but since the world of insurance is highly competitive, chances are other carriers can offer better plans with lower rates to new business customers. Shopping for rates at every policy term can help you secure the lowest premium for the coverage you require.
Since you’ve been insured by the same company for a considerable amount of time, you may be able to find a better rate with a new provider. To find out, you can request
car insurance quotes online
or call an insurance agent to see what offers are available to you.
If you find a lower rate that matches the coverage you need, you should make the switch!
