How often is a hit-and-run driver found?

Do police find hit-and-run drivers? My 2021 Mercedes-Benz was involved in a hit-and-run a few weeks ago. My insurance policy fully covered my car but just thinking about it still makes me mad!

“The police will attempt to find who hit your car, but the statistics aren’t in your favor.
Only about 10% of hit and run accidents get solved. To find the driver, the police will use:
  • Eyewitness reports
  • Surveillance cameras
  • Pictures from the scene
  • Social media
Even though your car was repaired, it is very frustrating to have had that happen. And even though you weren’t at fault, your car insurance may go up.”
