How often do you need to replace car parts?

Which parts of the car do you need to replace frequently? I know that certain parts of your car need more maintenance than others, but I have limited knowledge of car parts.

“Many parts of your car don’t need a replacement for hundreds of thousands of miles, if ever. However, others require a bit more of your attention.
The most common parts you’ll need to replace (and how often to replace them) include:
  • Oil filter (5,000 miles)
  • Windshield wipers (once or twice a year)
  • Battery (every four or five years)
  • Tires (50,000 to 80,000 miles)
  • Air filter (30,000 miles)
  • Spark plugs (100,000 miles)
Other components will need to be replaced as needed or if you’re in an accident. Fortunately, you may not not have to pay out of pocket if you have the right
types of insurance
or a
used car warranty
.
Keep in mind that insurance will only cover the replacement of parts if the damage or failure of that part is due to an accident. When you are in an accident and file a claim for insurance, you will see your rates increase. If you worry about the cost of insurance over the life of your vehicle, try the
