How often can car insurance rates be raised?
My rates recently jumped from $500 to over $800, which is really annoying. This has me wondering how often rates can be raised for a single driver.

I’m sure this isn’t the answer you want to hear, but there’s no limit to the number of times a driver’s car insurance rates can be raised.
Going from a rate of $500 to over $800 is a big leap, and your annoyance is understandable. If you want more affordable insurance, I strongly recommend shopping around and getting multiple quotes. There’s a decent change you can get the right coverage for a more reasonable price.
