The Toyota 4Runner Limited
interior is spacious, though the optional third row of seating is a disappointment. Only young kids can fit back there, so expect this issue to make teenagers grumpy. The 47.2 cubic feet of cargo space feels almost cavernous, too! Depending on your lifestyle, the interior quality is either a selling point or the weakest link. The styling is dated and the materials feel simplistic. But if you’re out mudding and rock crawling with your friends all weekend, you want that interior to be easier to clean, so this is intentional.
The one big gripe we have with the 4Runner’s is the infotainment system. The screen feels dated, and the center console’s whole aesthetic was seemingly inspired by a late 1990’s bookshelf stereo. You almost wonder where you push down to pop in a cassette tape.
Would any of that deter us from buying a 4Runner? Not even close. This is one of the ultimate adventure vehicles, and all things considered the interior is both perfectly fine, and also the least important feature of this offroader. And to only have these two complaints is a significant boast not many other vehicles can make.
