How much will my insurance go up if I make a claim on my 2005 Mercedes CLA 250?
I ended up damaging the side of my car while going through a drive-thru. There's a dent and a few scrapes on the right side. I have a $250 deductible and I'm assuming repairs are going to be expensive. Will my premium increase if I file a claim?
“The impact that claims have on your premium varies from carrier to carrier. Your premium may or may not go up; it depends on who you’re insured with.
Since you caused the damage, you should see how much it will cost to repair. As your deductible is $250, it may be worth submitting a claim if the cost of repairs is well above that.
Damaging your vehicle is upsetting, but comprehensive coverage and collision coverage exist to protect your vehicle in situations like this.
If you decide to submit your claim and your rate does increase at your policy renewal, you can always shop around to make sure you have the most affordable rate available. If you want low-priced car insurance quotes in seconds, sign up for the free Jerry app.”
