How much is the Acura disposition fee?
My Acura’s lease is ending, and I’ve heard horror stories from friends about unexpected fees they had to pay once their car leases ended. How much is the Acura disposition fee?

Acura’s
disposition fee depends on the condition of your vehicle when you turn it in at the end of your lease. All Acura leases include a $750 Excessive Wear-and-Tear or Damage Waiver, and you will be responsible for paying any damages that exceed the waiver amount.So, if your Acura is in near-spotless condition when you return it to the dealership, you can likely walk out without paying a disposition fee. Or, on the other hand, if your Acura has more than a handful of dings and nicks, you may have to shoulder additional expenses. After you return your vehicle, Acura will provide you with a Vehicle Inspection Report that details the condition of your vehicle and any repair charges.
That’s just for Acura’s standard lease agreement. If you’ve opted to upgrade to their Luxury Lease, your damage waiver doubles to $1,500. In that case, you’d only be responsible for paying repairs or cleaning fees in excess of that amount.
Acura’s policy is something of a double-edged sword. If you take good care of your vehicle and keep it
squeaky clean
, it’s possible to dodge the disposition fee entirely. Many other car makers instead charge a flat fee, which can sometimes work in your favor. Think about it: if you turn in your Acura in less than perfect condition, they can easily keep adding on cleaning and repair fees until you’re paying what feels like a fortune out of pocket. So, before you turn it in, we’d suggest you give it a clean and re-read your lease!
