It is exciting to see more legacy sportscar manufacturers adopt the
electric car
platform and pledge to do better for the environment. McLaren does currently make a high-performance hybrid, the Artura, and recently announced a new all-electric off-road motorsport team, McLaren Extreme E. The legendary motorsport brand is also developing a platform for electric sports cars in partnership with BMW. The platform will be used to develop electric cars under both brands.
Of all of the above, the only one with a price listing available to the public is the McLaren Artura, which has a starting price of $225,000.
If you do decide to go with a used car, there’s a federal mandate that the battery in your electric car be covered under warranty for a minimum of eight years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first.
