How much is it to tow a car 50 miles?

I’m planning to sell my car to a buyer who lives far away from me. The car doesn’t run, so I’ll need to have it towed. How much does it cost to tow a car 50 miles away?

“The cost to tow a car 50 miles will vary from company to company. On average, you’re looking at somewhere between $150 to $300—or more.
To put it in perspective, short five- to 10-mile tows typically cost $50 to $125, plus a $75 hook-up fee and $2 to $4 per mile. Hence, the expenses add up quickly if you’re towing longer distances.
As an aside, it’s courteous to tip the driver—just something to keep in mind. Good luck with the tow!
