How much is a car radiator?

On average, how much does a car radiator cost? I’m fixing up an old car and the radiator’s busted. I’d like to know how much I should expect to pay for a new part.

It sounds like you’ve got a big project on your hands! Unfortunately, new radiators can cost anywhere from $100 to $400! Of course, the specific cost depends on these factors:
  • Accessibility of the part
  • Age of your car
  • Type of car
Remember, radiators contain several components, so it may be possible to save money by identifying the individual parts you need. By salvaging any worthwhile parts, you could save hundreds of dollars on your project.
That said, radiators tend to rust and corrode over time. Old cars are likely to come with bad radiators. Try checking your local junkyard for discounted radiator parts before purchasing new ones.
