How much does it cost to replace a 2005 GMC Sierra front bumper?

During a bad winter storm my 2005 GMC Sierra slid on the road and I crashed into a pole. The front bumper is pretty crunched, so I’m guessing I’ll have to replace it instead of getting it repaired. How much will a replacement front bumper cost?

A new front bumper for a 2005 GMC Sierra should cost between $300 and $2,000. Keep in mind, replacement parts for SUVs and trucks are generally more expensive than they are for smaller vehicles, so that amount may end up being higher.
If you have
collision coverage insurance
, your policy should help cover the cost of your bumper replacement. However, you’ll want to take a look at your
insurance deductible
before you file a claim.
If the replacement bumper will cost more than your deductible, you’ll save money by filing a claim. But, if the replacement won’t be more than your deductible, filing a claim won’t be worth it. You’ll also want to consider that filing a claim can raise your insurance premiums.
