How much does it cost to repair a scratch on the exterior of your car?

I've noticed a few scratches on the exterior of my car. I know it's probably not a big deal as far as functionality goes, but I want to keep it in pristine condition as long as I can. However, I'm a little worried about the potential cost—how much is it to repair a scratch on a car?

“Keeping a car in good condition is definitely important and won’t necessarily break the bank! A surface scratch or a scratch on the clearcoat can cost as little as $150 for a professional repair.
However, if the scratch is deep, you can reasonably expect to pay up to $2,500 to $3,500 to fix it, since it will likely include a
new paint job
.
The best way to avoid expensive repairs is to keep your car garaged or use a car cover. That way you can protect yourself from expenses or
paying a deductible
on your comprehensive coverage to make the repairs.
If you don’t have comprehensive coverage and you want to keep your car in the best condition possible, it might be a good idea to add it to your policy! One easy way to do this is to use the
