How much does it cost to renew car insurance?

My renewal date is coming up for my car insurance policy. How much is this going to cost? More? Less? I'm a little in the dark.

Answer
While you don’t have to pay to renew, your premiums and other costs may have changed, so don’t be surprised if your bill seems different.
There are numerous factors that affect your premiums, including any claims made in the past year, a change of address, demerits on your driving record, or adding a driver to your policy. If any of this applies to you, you can expect to see your premiums rise.
However, the market as a whole can change year-to-year, and your rates may also increase because of factors out of your control—like an increase in natural disasters or the insurance industry sustaining major losses.
If your new premiums are too high, consider finding a new insurance provider with the help of insurance broker Jerry. In less than a minute, Jerry will provide you quotes from up to 50 providers. Jerry even will send you quotes when your policy is up for renewal, so you know you’re always getting the best price!
