How much does it cost to register a car in Oklahoma?

I just moved to Oklahoma from Kansas, so I think I need to re-register my car. Unfortunately, I’m a little strapped on cash right now. What does it cost to register a car in Oklahoma?

You can expect to pay approximately $136 to register your vehicle in
Oklahoma
.
While that might sound a little pricey, it accounts for six fees that include:
  • Title fee: $11
  • Registration
    fee: $96
  • Certificate of ownership: $4
  • Plate fee: $4
  • Title transfer fee: $17
  • License transfer fee: $27
Keep in mind: You must also transfer your driver’s license to Kansas within 30 days of your move.
Before you head to the DMV (or OMVC, as it’s called in Oklahoma), make sure to purchase an Oklahoma insurance policy. You’ll need to show
proof of insurance
before you can register your vehicle.
