How much does it cost to insure two cars?

My partner and I are moving in together. Since our cars will be at the same address, I’ve heard we can bundle our insurance and maybe get a discount. Would it be cheaper to insure two cars under one policy?

Many insurers offer a multi-car discount that applies to
multiple cars
at the same address insured on the same policy—but the cost to insure two cars depends on the provider and the drivers.
Insurance companies offer discounts for insuring multiple cars on a single policy, but most providers generally offer a 10-15% discount.
That said, there is no exact price for adding a second car to your insurance. The cost of adding a second vehicle varies based on several factors, including:
  • Insurance history
  • Driving record
  • Age
  • Location
  • Vehicle usage
  • Vehicle make and model
While we may not be able to estimate the cost to insure two vehicles, adding a second vehicle can save you money compared to taking out a second policy.
Whether you choose to insure two cars on policy or have separate policies, we recommend shopping around with a comparison app like
to find the best rates and ensure you’re not overpaying for car insurance.
