How much does it cost to insure a car with a salvage title?

I've rebuilt a car that previously had a salvage title, and it just passed safety inspections. However, I've heard that insuring a salvage title car is difficult. I've worked really hard at restoring it to its former glory—so is there any way to get insurance for it? And how much will it cost?

“Congratulations—rebuilding a totaled car is a big project, and you should be proud for getting it roadworthy again! It is true that
cars with salvage titles
are notoriously hard to insure because of the damage done to the vehicle, and the cost may vary.
However, you’re in luck—if your car passed safety inspections, and if you have valid registration, you can get a rebuilt title from the DMV. This will make it both insurable and legal to drive on the road.
Many providers do only offer
liability insurance
for rebuilt titles, but some do offer
collision coverage
, too!
