Is it expensive to install an electric car charger at your house? I’ve been considering getting an electric car, but I’m afraid that the charger will be too expensive to justify.

The average cost of installing an electric car charger at home is $1,200. However, the price can vary a lot depending on the type of vehicle you have, the voltage you’d like your charger to carry, and the type of charger you’d like to install. Prices can range from $300 to $4,500 or more.
This price includes an assumed labor cost of $40 to $120 per hour. To get a more accurate rate, you’ll need to contact an electrician to ask about their pricing and the types of services they offer.
