How much does it cost to fix car seats?

I drive a 2000 Ford Taurus, and recently one of the seams on my front passenger seat split. I’m pretty sure the seats are leather, and I don’t think I can repair the damage myself. In general, how much does it cost to fix car seats?

When it comes to partially repairing or even reupholstering your car’s seats, there are a few things that factor into the cost, from the material itself to the make and model of your vehicle.
For minor repairs of any material and in any car, you can expect to pay between $70 and $350 for labor and parts. Most upholstery shops charge a baseline of $100 an hour for repairs.
In cases like yours, where the issue is a split seam, the cost will probably be on the higher side, between $200 and $350. This is because split seams—essentially large tears—require heavier machinery to fix when compared to smaller rips and holes.
If you wanted to fully reupholster the seat rather than have it repaired, expect to pay closer to $600 or $700.
