How much does it cost to replace a Honda key fob?

Does it cost a lot to replace a Honda key fob? I lost mine about a week ago, and I think it’s time to buy a replacement.

A Honda key fob replacement will generally cost between $90 and $140. This includes the price of the fob and the work to have it programmed to work with your vehicle.
The cost of replacing a Honda key fob will depend on the type of remote and key that your car needs. It also depends on whether you purchase a key made by Honda or by a third party.
It might be worth asking a few dealerships or locksmiths for a quote before deciding where to get the key cut and programmed (if necessary).
Most Honda dealerships will have spare fobs in stock or will order the device for you. Remember to call your dealer a few days in advance so they can order any keys or parts they don’t have in stock.
If you choose to order the fob yourself, make sure you choose the right one for your make and model and stop by the dealership to have it programmed.
Once you pick up the key, a specialist will find your car’s unique code and help you program it. In total, the process should only take about 15 minutes!
