How much does it cost to charge an electric car at Price Chopper?
I’m moving to Glenmont, New York in a few months, and my friends who live there were telling me about a place called Price Chopper. Is it true that they offer free charging stations? I just spent most of my savings on a Ford Mustang Mach-E, and I’m hoping to make some of that money back by not paying for gas! Hah! So do you know how much it costs to charge an electric car at Price Chopper?

- Price Chopper is a family-owned grocery retailer that was founded in Kansas City in 1979. In 2013, Price Chopper began to give electric car charges for** free**.
- The state of New York encourages electric car adoption, and the free stations began with a $46,000 incentive from the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority.
- In Glenmont, NY, we located two Price Chopper Level 2 ChargePoints, each with 6.5 kW of power. And they’re both free to use.
While Price Chopper may not be as well-known as Target or Walmart, if you can find one with a free charging station, it doesn’t get much better than that.
