I recently sold my car and bought another one but I need to change my insurance. How much does changing my old car to my new one on my car insurance cost?

Almost all car insurance providers allow you to transfer your insurance policy to a new car, but the cost will depend on the

provider.
Transferring your car insurance coverage won’t happen immediately once you have a new car. This is why insurers offer a grace period—it’s designed to give you time to update your insurance coverage to cover your new set of wheels.
Here’s how you can transfer your insurance policy to a new car:
  • Contact your insurance provider
  • Get an updated quote
  • Reassess your coverage needs
  • Ask about additional fees
  • Shop around and compare quotes from other providers
But keep in mind that while transferring your policy saves you from having to open a new policy, the cost of your policy may change. Because you have a newer vehicle, your rates will likely increase. However, the cost will depend on several factors, including the make and model.
