Changing your engine air filter is one of the cheapest and easiest car DIY projects you can take on. A new filter can be between $20-$40. You can find them online, in big box stores, and at auto part stores.
You will know its time for a filter change when:
Your check engine light comes on
Your car starts running a little bumpy
You lose fuel economy
Once you have your new engine filter, just follow these steps:
Locate the engine air intake system: Each car is different, so check your user manual for its location
Open the airbox: It will be a large cylinder or square-shaped box near the front of the car
